Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 7, 2026
This policy explains what personal data Selfscope collects, why, and what you can do about it. The controller is Westpoint Technologies Limited, company number 17566082, Unit 13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Lytchett Matravers, Poole, BH16 6FA, United Kingdom. Contact: [email protected].
What we collect
- Your test answers and results. We need them to score the test and show your report.
- Your date, time and place of birth, only if you take the birth chart test. We use them to calculate the chart and keep them as part of that result.
- Gender and age range, if you choose them at the start. Age doesn't change your result; gender only picks the portrait in the 12 archetypes report. We also use them to understand who takes our tests and which ads reach them.
- Your email address, to create your account, save your report, send sign-in codes and the emails described in our Subscription terms.
- Your goals from the “What would you like to get from your result?” screen, to show the matching parts of your report.
- How you use the site: the pages and test screens you open, your answers as you give them, when you go back or leave, and the time of each step. We use this to see where tests are hard to finish and to improve them.
- Technical data: IP address, device type, operating system, browser, screen size, language and time zone, approximate location (country and city, from your IP address), the page that sent you to us, and ad and campaign tags in the link (for example utm_source or fbclid).
- Subscription details from Paddle: status, plan, dates and Paddle customer ID. We don't receive or store your card number.
- Messages you send us, to answer them.
Why we use it (legal bases)
- To provide the tests, reports and your account, and to send service emails: performance of our contract with you.
- To keep the service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, measure how the site is used and see which of our ads bring visitors: our legitimate interests. You can turn off our statistics on your device at any time (see the Cookie Policy).
- To measure our Meta (Facebook and Instagram) ads with cookies and the Conversions API: in the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, your consent, which you can refuse or withdraw; elsewhere, our legitimate interests, and you can opt out at any time with the “Do not sell or share my info” link.
- To remind you about a report you haven't opened, with up to three emails in the three days after you leave your email: our legitimate interests. Every reminder has a link to stop them, and we don't send them to addresses given from the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland. We record whether a reminder was opened or its button tapped, to see which emails help.
- To keep payment and tax records: legal obligation (handled mainly by Paddle).
We don't make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects based only on automated processing. Test scoring is automatic, but it only produces your report.
Cookies and similar technology
See our Cookie Policy for the full list. In short: the site keeps your progress and sign-in in your browser's storage, and our own statistics don't use cookies. Meta cookies load after you tap “Allow” if you're in the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland; elsewhere they load unless you opt out.
Who we share data with
- Paddle.com (UK), our Merchant of Record, which processes payments, taxes and receipts under its own privacy policy.
- Resend (US), which sends our emails.
- Telegram, which delivers a private notice to us when someone leaves an email address, with that address and the test taken.
- Cloudflare (US), which delivers the site, protects it from attacks and manages our domain's email forwarding. Your requests to selfscope.app pass through it.
- Open-Meteo (Switzerland), which finds the place you type when you enter your place of birth. It receives only the text of your search, not who you are.
- X Corp. (X, formerly Twitter), to measure our ads on X: its pixel reports a visit, a sign-up or a purchase, under the same rules as Meta's.
- Meta Platforms, to measure our ads, as described in the Cookie Policy (with your consent in the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland; elsewhere until you opt out).
- Our hosting provider, which runs our server.
- Authorities, if the law requires it, and a buyer of our business, if Selfscope is ever sold (we'd tell you first).
We don't sell your personal data for money. Under some US state laws, sending ad measurement events to Meta can count as “selling” or “sharing” personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out at any time with the “Do not sell or share my info” link at the bottom of every page, and we honor the Global Privacy Control signal. Some of these providers are outside the UK and EU; we rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses for those transfers.
How long we keep it
If you start a test but never leave your email, we delete the answers after 60 days. Records of how the site was used are deleted after 13 months, or straight away when you delete your account. Your account and reports stay until you delete the account. Our server's error logs are rotated and deleted automatically. Paddle keeps payment records for as long as tax law requires.
Security
Connections to Selfscope are encrypted. Passwords and sign-in codes are stored only as one-way hashes, and card details never reach our servers.
Your rights
You can download your data and delete your account at any time in Settings. You can also ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, object to its use or move it elsewhere, and withdraw consent at any time. Residents of California and other US states have similar rights, including the right to know, to correct and to delete, and the right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal data for ads; refusing Meta cookies does this, and we also honor the Global Privacy Control signal. We won't treat you differently for using these rights. Write to [email protected]; we answer within one month. If you're in the UK, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk); in the EU, to your local data protection authority.
Children
Selfscope is for people 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has given us data, write to us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or on the site.
